The new year’s initiation urging for enactment of an international convention peace agreement signed by 500 national and international women leader's . 

The international women’s peace group held 2016 network peace forum on January 19, 2016 at the peace training Institute in Gyeonggi-do where 500 women leaders participated for discussion on the role of women in the implementation of the international law for the cessation of war and achievement of world peace. 

At this forum, participants expressed their strong support for heavenly culture world peace, restoration of light Initiative for enactment of an international convention on cessation of wars and achievement of world peace (hereafter international convention) at this timely moment in which terrorism is occurring in many parts of the world and North Korea’s nuclear testing is threatening peace. 

They also agreed to play the role in monitoring and urging their government bodies to enact this law for each nation once the first draft for international convention is finalized .....

The Role of Women in the Implementation of the International Law on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace



Over 500 Participants at the 2016 IWPG Network Peace Forum

The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) celebrated the new year hosting the   2016 IWPG Network Peace Forum and urging for the enactment of an international convention on the cessation of war and the achievement of world peace.


Tilted The Role of Women in the Implementation of the International Law on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace, the Forum was hosted on JAN 19 at the training institute of peace located in Gyeonggi Province, Korea and convened approximately 500 women leaders from Korea and other countries.

The forum was the organization’s first forum of 2016. The theme of the forum highlighted the hearts of mothers  that protect the youth, urging the international community for a swift response to enact an international convention for peace, which is spearheaded by HWPL (Heavenly Light World Peace Restoration of Light).

Against the backdrop of Nuclear testing of the DPRK and terrorism tearing through the world, support for such an international convention grew more active and broad. Participants of the Forum pledged that women of the world will monitor and urge the decision makers so that each government would take part in the international convention and put them into action once the draft of the international convention is completed.

18 December, 2015, the 2015 IWPG Network India was held at the Women’s Christian College, Nagercoil  in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, the southernmost area of India hosted by the IWPG Women Leaders’ Peace Committee Kanyakumari District with PURA as the leading organizer. 
 The conference was followed by a large-scale peace walk across downtown Kanyakumari which was joined by the local citizens. 
 Nam Hee Kim, the chairwoman of IWPG said in her video message that she wanted most to come together with women in India for peace.  
 "Though women in India are struggling with India’s custom and social norms, I believe those struggles are what we go  through on the way to becoming agents of peace. Now it is the time to show the true potential of Indian women”. 
  In his congratulatory message, Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL said,
 “the entire the global village must join one another to leave a peaceful world as a legacy for our future generations.” He added, “When all women of India word for peace, that will make the world anew.”
A university student named G. Evangeline Ashna who attended the event told the reporters that the conference made her realize that women are not mere beneficiaries or ones who need help but women are the ones who can protect themselves and bring peace to Tamil Nadu and India.


IWPG is an international non-profit organization for women with ten million members across 1000 affiliates and branch offices in 170 countries widely recognized for its convening and campaigning capabilities.  
It is currently working in cooperation with HWPL for the enactment of an international convention for the cessation of wars and the achievement of world peace.
