3/3/14

The new semester began in Korea.

Today is the day that many of Universities in Korea begin their new semesters. I had a chance to visit a university today at the lunch time. In the university, I could hear the sound of the laughing, talking and even teasing one others. Looking at the faces of freshman, there were vitalities and energetic smiles on their faces. On the other hand, some people who seemed like in their senior (there are some atmosphere that only seniors or junior have. haha), looked worried and less energetic than freshmen. Perhaps, they are worried about getting a job and jump into the society beyond the boundary of university. Wells, who knows?

Definitely not all of us, but many people attend university these days.
What would be their purpose of entering university? One more line on their resume, or new and exciting experiences, or deepening our knowledge?
I don’t know.

But, no matter what was their initial purpose of entering university, I personally hope university and college to be a place where people can realize their dream.
Not a place where it institutionalizes people, but a place where people take a step closer to their dream.

What was or is your purpose of entering university?
How was the years you spent in university?

Personally,  I went to university because of the atmosphere of society, the atmosphere which makes you believe that "you must go to university in order to fit in 'standard category'" or  to get a good job". I'm not saying university is a bad institution or something like that.
I loved my university life. Perhaps I might sounded criticizing, but I just wanted to share my story of entering university. How about you? When was the year you entered university with a smile of exciting on your face?If you are in a mood to talk about your experience in university, like me, please share it with us!

I want to hear your story too.
